igauzio Announces the World’s Fastest, Simplest and Lowest-Cost Enterprise Data Cloud

Delivers 100x faster performance and 10x lower cost for on-premises and hybrid cloud deployments

STRATA + HADOOP WORLD NEW YORK 2016, September 27, 2016 – iguazio  today introduced its flagship product, the Enterprise Data Cloud platform, unleashing the full potential of megatrend applications and analytics for big data, the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud-native applications. iguazio has pioneered a new service-driven approach to enterprise data management, redesigning the entire data stack to accelerate performance and bridge the enterprise skill gap..

iguazio’s Enterprise Data Cloud is the only secure data platform-as-a-service deployed either on-premises or in hybrid cloud architectures, with self-service portals and APIs for developers and operators. Previewed at Strata + Hadoop World New York 2016, the Enterprise Data Cloud represents a shift in the way enterprises are storing and analyzing data, where information often is stored in silos, is difficult to access and is expensive to maintain.

The new unified platform delivers a breakthrough in application performance and efficiency. With only four data appliances, companies can store up to 10 petabytes per rack, with costs starting at $0.03 per gigabyte per month. The platform delivers 10 million transactions per second and throughput of 50 gigabytes per second with sub 100 microsecond application latencies, across streaming, NoSQL, objects or files.

iguazio’s revolutionary stack, already in early customer deployments, supports simultaneous high-performance access through multiple industry standard and Amazon-compatible APIs.

“With iguazio’s Enterprise Data Cloud, our enterprise customers have the ability to build large data repositories closer to data sources and generate business insights from their data at incredibly high speeds,” said Lance Weaver, Vice President for Product and Platform Strategy, Equinix. “iguazio’s new platform fits extremely well with the Equinix Data Hub architecture. For our customers, it means our joint solutions offer enterprises both hybrid and private cloud options to serve their data-centric applications for edge analytics, IoT and many other applications.”

Big data has struggled in enterprises, which is why iguazio’s solution of bringing agility to the cloud, along with performance and efficiency to the enterprise, is important and timely.  “Through 2018, 70% of Hadoop deployments will fail to meet cost savings and revenue generation objectives due to skills and integration challenges,” according to Gartner.*

George Gilbert, Wikibon’s Lead Analyst, Data and Analytics agrees: “iguazio introduces a paradigm shift,” he said. “Enterprises are building complex big data environments, where each data store is specialized to a specific task. The result can be an inefficient data pipeline which slows down enterprise adoption of big data. More unified storage and analytics can deliver simplicity, lower cost of ownership and faster time to insight.”

iguazio’s unique design eliminates the need for copies and long transformations between data models. Using the Enterprise Data Cloud, stateless cloud-native apps provision data in seconds and consume it through standard APIs. Developers and business units share data, search and monitor and provision data lifecycles through abstract policies with multi-layered, role-based access control.

The Enterprise Data Cloud at a Glance:

  • A single application client drives 2 million requests per second, using the native APIs and 800k req/sec using Amazon compatible S3, Kinesis and DynamoDB APIs (100x faster than Amazon’s)
  • A single rack hosts more than 10 petabytes of mixed SSD and HDD capacity
  • iguazio provides native NFS, Hadoop (HDFS) and Spark (DataFrame) APIs with built-in analytics offload
  • iguazio’s fine-grained policy engine enables multi-tenant secure data sharing, processing content at a rate of 100Gb/s per node using an off-the-shelf server.

“Today’s data platforms are expensive and time consuming for enterprises. Rather than jury-rigging these inefficient infrastructures, we tackle the problem head on – redesigning the data stack to reduce complexity, redundancies and security issues,” said Asaf Somekh, co-founder and CEO of iguazio. “Our beta customers have realized significant improvements in their data access speeds while also drastically reducing costs and simplifying operations.”
