What an amazing initiative by JVP, the Jerusalem Development Authority, the new spirit and the Jerusalem Parliament. The vision to combine the nightlife of the Mahane Yehuda Shuk with breakthrough Israeli technologies is turning to reality.
Hundreds of FinTech startups and founders from all over Israel and abroad joined the ShukTech Fintech event.
Alcohol, music, good food, and the entrepreneurial spirit were the main themes of the celebration. During the 3.5 hours, we moved throughout the tiny lanes of the shuk all the while experiencing the young people, live music, good food, great alcohol and most importantly – inspiring technologies.
The event was held through the tiny lanes and stores (bastot) of the shuk, as well as local bars, discussing one of the hottest trends in the tech industry today: FinTech. Our guests examined how our smartphones have become payment methods, as well as insurance and finance, and cyber-attacks on financial organizations, all of which are among the hottest trends in the field.
Among our guests and speakers were: Yair Seroussi, former Chairman of Bank Hapoalim; Dorit Salinger, Executive Director, Capital Market, Insurance & Saving Authority; Gadi Tirosh, JVP Managing Partner; Yoav Tzruya, JVP Partner; Duncan Stewart and top executives from Deloitte in Israel and worldwide; Haim Pinto, Head of Fintech and Business Development at Bank Hapoalim; Yuval Tal, Founder and President of Payoneer, Itzik Ozer, business development, JDA and many more.
For us, it’s just the beginning of an exciting 2017 that will include a few more events in the Mahane Yehuda Shuk in aim to build connections between the major factors of Israeli tech. We are looking forward to continuing the partnerships between the many leaders of the tech communities.
