Omer Givati has been the CEO of the non-profit organization Bakehila – Leading Social Change since 2016. Bakehila works with underprivileged kids and youth to close the gaps of disadvantage rooted in socioeconomic differences prevalent in Israeli peripheral communities.
Omer has over 20 years of experience in the field of non-profit organizations with an emphasis on formal and informal education, including working with at risk youth and children.
Previous to this position, Omer worked for the Jewish Agency for Israel as a partnership director for Kiryat Gat, Lachish, Shafir and Chicago communities. Omer spent two terms in the U.S. as a Shaliach/emissary for The Jewish Agency, where he worked on connecting youth to their roots and to Israel.
Omer holds a BA from The Hebrew University in Political Science and International Relations, and an MA in Public Administration, having finished with honors.
