What a night! ShukTech FoodTech last night at Mahane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem was a huge success!
Over 700 people moving through the narrow lanes of the bustling market to join the Shuktech Foodtech Festival where food meets technology, the culinary field, science startups, and investors. It was the third event of Shuktech Nights JLM series, that we have been leading together with our great partners, the Jerusalem Development Authority, New Spirit and the Jerusalem Parliament. When it comes to Foodtech, it was a great experience to work together with our partners from the Strauss group and the Kitchen Foodtech Hub. The future of food technologies, new trends, and the way our lives will change dramatically – were part of the themes of the discussions.
The Startup Boulevard offered hundreds of visitors the opportunity to taste, smell and experience innovative products as well as the opportunity to meet with founders of cool FoodTech startups at booths in the Shuk. The Beer Bazaar pub hosted the hottest FoodTech startups: Unispectral, Icebow, Flying SpArk, DayTwo, DouxMatok, and Robin Food. In the Hashechena Bar you could find What’s Cook Next, where experts from academia explained what happens when food meets science. The session at the Ba-La Malabi bar, led by JVP Partner Michal Drayman, gave entrepreneurs the tools to make their FoodTech startup successful, together with Deloitte, KPMG, APM, TS Law, and Tel Hai College. For the curious ones who really wanted to know how startups could change the food industry, we brought experts from Amorphical, Lumeega, Strauss and OpenRestaurants. FoodTech Lab Capital hosted another session called Coffee with Investors with Green Soil, OurCrowd and The Kitchen, who gave startups the opportunity to get feedback on their innovative startup and the way to success.
