Erel Margalit Founder and Chairman of JVP held this month an event in tribute to JVP Community’s- “Bakelila” organization which he founded together with his wife Debbie in 2003. The project including 45 Shinshinim (young volunteers postponing their military service by one year), is active in 15 schools throughout 5 neighborhoods in Jerusalem: Gilo, Katamonim, Neve Yaacov, Talpiot and Beit Zafafa. Bekehila started its 9th year of activities in which reaching every year over 3000 children and families in the different neighborhoods.

About 60 leaders from the business, social and financial industries participated in the event, saluting the organizations’ activities in Jerusalem. Noalee Harel a former volunteer with the scouts, and an MIT undergraduate represented the volunteers and revealed the strong feelings of contribution and fulfillment obtained working with the Bakehila projects. Among the guests were Michael Steinhardt, Michael Schulhof, Ghislaine Maxwell, Laurie Dhue and JVP partners Gadi Tirosh, Kobi Rozengarten, Alex Ott, Fiona Darmon and Gally Mayer.
