Bakehila's New Learning and Enrichment Center in Bet Zfafa
Bakehila's first project working with the Arab population in Jerusalem
Bakehila's first project working with the Arab population in Jerusalem opened recently in the Eastern neighborhood of Beit Zfafa. The Learning Center is a pilot project open 8 hours weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. The goal is to expand this program to include all of Bakehila's activities - such as In-School Academic Assistance and Youth Leadership Training. Within the Learning Center, the students receive a range of academic reinforcement, in order to narrow educational gaps and to prepare them to successfully transition into middle and high school. The Learning Center has created a group of exceptional students, provides computer time for students and has forged a soccer club in partnership with HaPoel Katamon. This project is funded by an individual donor from the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco.
