September 10, 2001 - Celltick Technologies, a global vendor of interactive mobile broadcasting solutions and Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERICY), the world's leading supplier in telecommunications, have signed a distribution and license agreement to have the Celltick interactive mobile media solution incorporated in Ericsson's offering to mobile network operators.
The Celltick interactive mobile media solution allows operators to bring value added services and applications to the fingertips of mass-users through continuous streaming of enticing content directly to the handsets' screens. The streamed content is non-intrusive and by an easy two-clicks reaction, subscribers start consuming WAP, SMS or voice-based Value Added Services. Celltick enables mass usage of Value Added Services by removing the main barriers for usage - need for customer education, need for proactive action by the subscriber and the hassle of multiple keystrokes needed to activate a service. The interactive broadcast technology consumes very little spectrum resources and is available for GSM and GPRS networks with a smooth upgrade path to 3G.
The parties disclosed that following Ericsson's extensive certification procedure of the Celltick system, that will be conducted in the near future, the companies will commence joint sales and marketing activities. Celltick, as a portfolio company of Ericsson, will furnish support services as per Ericsson's existing high support standards.
